This is a hard saying for some but the truth take a NIV and than compare it to the KJV and see how far that the Church has fallen and continues to fall

This morning, I have been struck by the phrase in Romans 12:1 (personally paraphrased) "offer your body as a living sacrifice". Of course, the point of a sacrifice is that some-thing dies so that some-one may be forgiven. The idea of being a living sacrifice is beyond that. It means that, daily, we lay our lives (our bodies) down at the altar of the cross before Jesus. We die to ourselves: our "wants", our "needs", our "goals" and we trade them for Jesus' wants, needs and goals. We trade our life for His.

How amazing is that! I want the life, goals and dreams of Jesus for my life this week! I want to trade my weaknesses for His strengths! My broken, decrepid body for His perfect body!

Furthermore...as we do this together, in community, we become the Body of Christ to our community (vs 3-8). We serve one another, love one another, sacrifice for one another, and the whole city sees a community focused on love and service to one another. I want to raise my kids in that kind of community! WooHoo!

(sorry...diarrhea of the keyboard this morning :)
