Our Core Beliefs
The Scriptures are God’s revelation of Himself to us and are reliable, trustworthy and life-changing. The Bible is a wonderful gift and is the best window into understanding our lives, our world and God’s redemptive heart. It is our authority in life and leadership and we stand underneath the Scriptures, not above them. We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Scriptures.
God is the ultimate lover, leader and authority over His created universe. He is eternal and limitless. His love and promises remain forever certain. The trinity describes the one God whose whole and undivided essence belongs equally, simultaneously, and fully to each of the three persons of the Godhead: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Humanity was created in the image of God. Every race, color and individual person, both male and female, are valuable and of equal worth. Sin is willful disobedience to God and shackles every person to a life of pain and selfishness and separates us from our holy God. We are desperately in need of a Savior.
Jesus, God the Son, came to earth to rescue us from our sinful condition and died on a cross to offer us forgiveness of sins through the atoning work of the cross. Salvation is the free gift of our gracious God to those who by faith are regenerated and filled with the Holy Spirit. Genuine faith leads to obedience to the will of God.
The Church is empowered and enabled by the Holy Spirit to bring glory and bear witness to the Son. All Christians belong to the Body of Christ and love, peace and unity should be their renown.
Christ prescribed two wonderful ordinances for the Church: baptism is the outward expression of an inner commitment to Christ; and communion is a memorial to the sacrificial death of Jesus on the Cross.
